PETRIFIED WOOD

The attractive and sometimes colorful gemstone found within about every state was not carefully considered by the ancients (excepting me). Even  so, this sometimes agate, sometimes jasper and at times chalcedony replacement of trees of the Triassic ... logically owns all of the virtues specific to the replacement material. Blair's Theorem conjectures an additional asset. Petrified wood, petrified dinosaur bone (even dung) and all such, being about one hundred and sixty million years old, must have the ability to  insure long life ... perhaps even immortality. Also, the vast variety of color and pattern present must serve a holistic purpose, otherwise, why would  Nature have crafted such? Which color and which pattern are specific to which danger? Don't know. To be safe, Gerry Blair keeps at least one of each. The meticulous collector is advised to do likewise.
